What is the Minnesota deed tax when selling a house?

Answered byChris DeutschLicensed MN Realtor (MN #20382264)
Direct Summary (TL;DR)

Minnesota charges a deed tax of 0.33% of the sale price, paid by the seller at closing under Minn. Stat. § 287.21. Hennepin and Ramsey counties add a 0.01% environmental response fee, making it 0.34% there. On a $425,000 sale that is $1,445. Sales of $3,000 or less pay a flat $1.70.
